Evi Bouzaki is Greek in origin and has lived in the UK from 2004 to 2012. The inherent interest about the human body and soul led her to different forms of discovery - from martial arts to Yoga to holistic massage and other bodywork techniques.
Very soon she realised that having a steady and accessible Yoga practice gives her a support, an anchor, a practice she could go back and feel more balanced in every aspect in her life.
During hard times or even excitement, whenever out of balance, she hits the mat. The time was right to attend the British Wheel of Yoga teaching diploma (BWY) with David Charlton from 2006 to 2009.
Fascinated by the depth and beauty of eastern philosophy, the inspiring principles of texts like Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, the long term therapeutic effects of the practice, the endless learning about the possibilities of the human body and systems, she continued her studies with the Association for Yoga Studies teaching diploma (AYS) from 2009 to 2011.
Her teachers David Charlton and Ranju Roy (sadhana mala) guided her into the 'Art of Individual teaching', delving deeper into the essence of the practice. They were both students of TKV Desikachar, Paul Harvey and Peter Hersnack amongst others.
Sri TKV Desikachar had stated discussing Patanjali that 'we should not forget to teach according to the strength, weakness and resources of the individual', and this principle was the direction of her journey in this path.
The formula of her personal and teaching practice was changed and thoroughly inspired by sir Srivatsa Ramaswami and the Teacher Training in Vinyasa Krama - Chennai (100hrs-2018).
Later on, she had the opportunity to go through another inspiring experience with Mark Whitwell (student of TKV Desikachar and co-writter of the book 'Heart of Yoga') - 30hrs part of Heart of Yoga TTc.
She also feels very blessed to be a part of the Global team of 'Peace & Sustainability through Yoga' initiative - Sri Raghu Ananthanarayanan, Ritambhara Ashram and the India's foundation 'Centre for soft power' since late 2018.
Sri T.Krishnamacharya with his knowledge, wisdom and insight on Yoga and Ayurveda has provided a huge gift to the world through his students (and the students of his students 😊).I bow to his legacy and my teachers. 🙏
The last 15-20 years, she had the opportunity to travel for practice and workshops/CDT's with different teachers and linears such as :
Mohan's family, Leslie Kaminoff, Paul Harvey, Kathy Cooper, David Swenson, Leo Peppas, John Stirk, Seane Corn, David Sye, Helen Barker, Leda Shantala and many others.
On philosophy and studying texts:
sadhana mala UK, Carlos Pomeda, Dimitrios Vassiliades (Samkhya Karika), Ritambhara Ashram.
On meditation:
Vipassana by S.N.Goenka (since 2010 many 10-days retreats in the UK, Greece, Switzerland, India) - Mindfulness meditation.
Along with Yoga, her experience on different types of bodywork and the exploration of the human body and mind needs, she has entered the world of Wellness. She believes that everyone deserves moments of wellness and calmness that enhance the overall health, during the fast paced world we’re living in.
She has attended training and workshops in different bodywork techniques and applies Oil Massage treatments to individuals according to their needs (Relaxing massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Lymph Circulation Release, Back & Neck Release).
